I love having my high view Aspect hummingbird feeder right out my dining room window. This morning a female Ruby-throated Hummingbird had breakfast right along with me. The high view perch allows the hummingbird to rest while it takes a drink. The heat sours the syrup quickly so I only put out a few ounces at a time and replenish every few days. An easy way to prepare the syrup is to boil 1 cup of water with 1 cup of sugar for 2 minutes. Cool completely and dilute ¼ cup of the concentrate with ¾ cup water to use in the feeder. I then freeze three ¼ cup amounts in 8 oz tubs to use later. When I need a fresh mix I simply take out the frozen concentrate and fill tub with water and let it thaw. Birds are happy, I am happy – no mess!
